Although I spend a lot of my time designing and stitching my own designs I also like to have some fun sewing time where I can just follow the pattern and not have to think too much.!!!
I was given the book "Remembering Adelia" by Kathleen Tracy for my birthday last year and have been able to find some time to sew this little quilt. the best bit is that I have used some of my stash…not much but at least some!!
I just love it!!!! and it's finished!!
I then bought myself the book "Prairie Children and their Quilts" and have made this little quilt….
so cute!!!
I have a few more on the go too, I am trying to make better use of leaders and enders and so these quilts are coming together quickly!!
We are in the first week of school holidays here, so hopefully I can get a bit more fun sewing done!!! I have just about finished all my projects for others and would like to work a little on my own quilts…just for me (and a couple of presents too!!!)
Back to the sewing room for the rest of the afternoon…
Gail
Hi . Great little quilts.
I love to use all my leftovers and make small items.
Have a great day .
Hugs 😉
Gail, they are just lovely! Strangely enough I have been searching for little quilt patterns and only just came across that same book title- the Praire children one. I may have to look at that other title too now, they both look so good.
esp love the top one………
So sweet. Love the simplicity of the patterns! I’m a leader and ender gal, too, and appreciate the mention of the books. I’ll look for them! ~karen
How nice for you to find some play time for just you. The little quilt is so pretty with those scrappy nine-patches and prairie points, and the aqua is a smashing color. Very good work, Gail!
Ahh… an afternoon in the sewing room. Sounds perfect!
Hi Gail…. just loved the small quilts ….soooo I visited Kathleen Tracey’s blog too!!! I’m addicted now as well!. So I’ve joined the 6 month little quilt club! Ah well… just need time!!
Quilt happy, Gloria .. and thank you.. I think!
Love your little quilt, colors, pattern, etc! The 3-d prairie points are a nice surprise touch!! Will you put more on the outside edge?
Gail – that is too funny – I was just looking at the book last night and thinking of making the same quilt – that is so weird. I decided it was too late last night to start a new one. Yours looks fantastic!!
Darling quilts!
