so much to tell

what a hectic few days I have had (but sooo much fun!) Friday started with a haircut that my sister booked for me, very very short and a bit of colour…very out of my comfort zone but I love it!! coffee with Sue and a lovely night stitching.

Saturday was my birthday (too old to mention LOL) and besides hubby pulling up the kitchen floor, I went out for coffee with my mum and out to dinner to a thai restaurant with my family and later snuggled on the couch reading "the sugar camp quilt" (thanks Bev for the loan)

Sunday was the Glen Harrow stitch-in with Leanne and Rosie (the most gorgeous and bestest friends a girl could have!) and lots of my friends (new and old!!) Hi Sharon!!

P1010653

the food was yummy yummuy…

P1010659 and the stitching great.

After a couple of glasses of wine with the girls on sunday night I was exhausted and so were they.

Monday was lunch with Melinda, Rosie and Leanne to catch up on all the details of the weekend and today Leanne, Melinda and I just had to visit "Ripe" in Sassafras for the most scrumptious hot chocolate!! so tomorrow will be the day I catch up on pattern writing..I promise!

Take care

Flowers and red shoes

well the red shoe saga continues!! I was working at Foothills yesterday when Liz came in for some help with a pattern. Of course i was wearing my red shoes……and when Liz saw them the conversation soon changed to "I LOVE your shoes"  After a long story I told her where she could possibly buy a pair and off she went, promising to come back the next day. So after my class this morning, Liz came in with these for me:

P1010627 how lovely!!!

not only did she get a pair of red shoes but a black pair too!!(oh no that is dangerous, I really need a black pair!! LOL). She was thrilled!

we quickly sorted out the pattern and off she went very happy, and I was too!!

so..for all of you shoe girls out there. the brand is Barani and the style is Jane

Lots of laughs….

Because nice matters

I have been tagged a few times now for the Nice Matters Award. So thanks to Leanne, May Brit and Anita. I am not sure how to put the lovely pink card on here so visit one of these girls to take a look.

Thanks also to Amanda, who has let her yahoo group know about my patterns. I met Amanda at Loxton and you must visit her site to see her completed bags. She has used the lovliest fabrics to make them and is very pleased with the results.

I have had a fairly hectic week with a 10th birthday, 2 meetings, 1 sick boy, dentist visits for 2 boys and the usual busy mum things. I have also got a couple of meetings next week (especially my sewing group meeting!) and it is also shaping up to be hectic again. But I wouldnt have it any other way, I am so blessed to have a great family and great friends and I love to be busy!! (LOL well most of the time!!)

So, have a good weekend and maybe a little time for stitching!

New pattern

I have finished my new design "Flowers for thee" and I think I have finished writing the pattern also (I say think because I will read over it again tomorrow before I send it off to my distributor) I quite enjoyed doing this one as I am into stars at the moment, I also like the sawtooth border as this is the first time I have done one in a design and I think it looks good!!!!

Flowers_for_thee

I am very happy with the way it has turned out. It should be available next week.

I have also changed my photo again…..I have had my haircut a bit shorter than the older photo and thought it might be nice to update. I hate having my photo taken, but I think my son Jarrod has taken a nice one (he has taken lots but this is the best).

I have had a lovely chat with Kim today and am looking forward to meeting her and Natalie next week when they come to Melbourne for the Glenharrow stitch-in. Leanne and Rosie are having their annual retreat days and it is a lot of fun.

And so onto the next project which I can’t show you as it is for Homespun magazine!! and then onto another new quilt which I have designed already and just need the time to make it (hint…its a Christmas quilt!)

Well that’s all for now

cheers

Tagged again

this time I have been tagged by Leanne and I have to list 8 random things, the rules are as follows:

RULES – Post rules before giving the facts – Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves – People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules – At the end of the your blog you need to tag eight people and list their names – Leave them a comment on their blog, telling them they have been tagged and not to forget to read your blog.

this is what I have come up with!

1. I don’t do dressups ( I can hear Leanne laughing…..)

2. I hate green beans…..(but I do like peas!!!  LOL)

3. I like to drink water but straight from the tap… not cold from the fridge!

4. Anytime is chocolate time…..(especially when sewing..)

5. I am not very computer literate…thats what my boys are for…

6. I LOVE to read and if I could read and sew at the same time I would..

7. I hate being late and I have been known to be extra early just so I won’t be late!!!

8. I went to uni to become a teacher but dropped out to go to Europe….thank goodness for that..I never would have had enough patience to be a teacher.

I won’t be tagging anyone as I have run out of people to tag from last time!!!!

Off to Maccas for Liams birthday with my family,

bye for now

progress

over the weekend I was able to stitch together more of my double wedding ring,

P1010572

I have done some more arcs as well but this is going to take me about 10 years to finish!!!

I have also been reading this book

P1010579 I have read this before but I really enjoyed it so decided to read it again. It is the sequel to "The Harp in the South" , a very Australian story. A good read!!

It is Liam’s birthday tomorrow and my baby is going to be 10!! he is really excited and is looking forward to a birthday tea of McDonalds. (we don’t eat much of it anymore!) I also let my kids choose a cereal for breakfast that I don’t normally let them have so he has chosen Fruit Loops and he is having a lunch order at school as well. Presents are hard to choose for him as being the third boy, his brothers have usually got a lot of things he can now have!   Whenever I am asked what Liam would like for his birthday I never know what to say and he doesn’t know either. Whatever he gets, he will have a lovely day anyway, he likes to be fussed over and that is what we will do. Happy Birthday Liam.

I need to go and bake a cake!!

Have a good week

Finished projects

I am starting to receive photos from some of the girls who were at Loxton, of their finished projects. Here is Lorraines bag, it is gorgeous with some lovely pom poms along the seams.

P1000771

You can see that she has been making the most of her time off reading as well. Lorraine started the red shoe craze so its all her fault!!LOL.

Here is a photo of her basket as well, she certainly has been busy.

P1000773

thanks also for the lovely chocolate and the gorgeous tag, made from a photo of the bag, which has inspired me to do the same with some of my photos! (when I get around to it that is!!!!)

The bag pattern is now available so if you are interested, check out your favourite patchwork shop for a copy.

This week

Back to a normal kinda life this week. I had a lovely class on Sat with some girls over at Missy Moos. we worked on a small quilt which I have called Daisy Summer.

Daisy_summer_3

here is a close up of a block

Daisy_summer_1

these are not my normal colours but I really liked the fresh feel that they bring, who knows maybe I will gravitate to more of these colours .

the other quilt I am working on is called Flowers for Thee and I posted a picture a while ago of the blocks. I have now put it all together with a border and am ready to quilt.

Flowers_for_thee1

I just need a few more hours in the day to catch up on some of my sewing.

Hopefully i will have that finished soon and move onto the next project (no doubt it will be a Christmas one!!)

cheers
