Bless our Home

Look what came in the mail today!!! The new copy of Country Threads with my project on the front cover……exciting!!!

Country threads2
it's the one at the top!!!!

Country threads1
I had such fun stitching this, it is not very big, great for a present!!!

I also received this a couple of weeks ago from my mum, it is for our 20th wedding anniversary…it replaces the one she made 20 years ago (although I will still keep it of course!!!)

Wildflower
it is made with wildflower serenade which I just love!!!

And here is a peek at a new project for my book (yes a book….am I being ambitious?)

Book 1
not to give too much away, there will be lots of stitching and a bit of applique…..my mind is running at a million miles and I just don't seem to have enough stitching time!!!

Back soon!!

Gail

  2. sounds great! Do let us know when the book happens. I’ll duck down in my lunch-hour tomorrow and get a copy of country threads.

  3. Hello from Belgium : looking forward to receiving my own copy of Country Threads and discovering your project.
As for your book: one’s never too ambitious.

  4. Oh how I’d love to get my hands on that magazine, but don’t think it’s going to be easy to find here in Oregon. Congrats on being on the front cover. Your book is very exciting. That’s wonderful news.
I just completed my first BOM last night after being sent to your site from a friend. I absolutely am loving your work and can hardly wait for all nine blocks to be out! Thanks so much for the pattern.

  5. Congratulations with your project in the magazine! Such fun!
Also congratulations on the book plans you have, I know I want to get that one. Hope you’ll have a lot of fun making the projects for the book. Your work is amazing, and I wish you good luck:o)
Hope you and your family are safe, and fine.

  6. A book will be great. I seem to have gone around in a circle, I started with embroidery and moved to applique, but embroidery is winning once more as I can do it with minimum preparation. My only commment is, that I wish wish wish that more pattern designers would offer iron on transfers as an option. for those of us who are time poor, it is an absolute God-send!! Would you consider that??

  7. Hi Gail–I also walked into my Quilt shop today and picked up a Country Threads book–and it did have one of your quilts in it!! But i believe here in the states we are a couple issues behind you?? I am really enjoying your BOM and I have both of them done so far. I will surely buy your book if it is available in the states. I have blog site now and i have you on my links page!!
Have a great day stitching. Diane

  8. Hi gail,i guess now its obvious where you get you’re talents from. The quilt you’ mother made is great.Love the vibrant blue, makes it pop a bit.I dont think you are too ambitious, every one of your patterns are beautiful including the one on country threads.I am actually in the process of stitching that at the moment for a friend who is moving to a new house. It will look lovely.Well done gail.Kylie

  9. Gail, it’s absolutely gorgeous! I will be dashing out to the newsagents in the morning for my copy!
A book? About time. 🙂 I love your designs and can just imagine how lovely a book of them will be.

  10. Oooh! A book … how exicting. Can’t wait to see that. Your Country Threads project is lovely … I drooled over it in the magazine last night. Did you use Blackbird Designs fabrics?

  11. A book! How exciting! I love your work and can’t wait for Country Threads to arrive here in the US. How lucky you are to have a mom who makes you quilts!

  12. Oh Gail… My Country Threads arrived in the Mail on Wednesday & your Stitchery is most definately on the Must Do List ! Kept Flipping back to it… as I devoured the rest of the Magazine… As You Do… Lol

  13. I am on the look out for a copy too… As if I haven’t enough to do this one is just too beautiful to pass up… I have always admired ‘home’ type samplers and have never found quite the right one – but yours is definetly going to be it!!!!
With the Quilt Convetion here next week the hunt is on for just the right fabric – and of course -a copy of the magazine!!!!!
I have just started your free BOM as well and I am wanting to catch up before March’s block… As I am fairly new to this having previously being ‘a looker’ rather than ‘a doer’ I find these blocks easy to follow and peaceful to do. Bliss making…
Best of lucky with your book endeavour..

  14. I just discover your blog…it’s wonderfull et very beautifull. I’m french and i don’t speak very good english. I hope you’ll understand what i want tou say.
