The Quilted Living Book Tour

The Quilted Living Book Tour starts today over at The Fat Quarter Shop.

Gerri Robinson of Planted Quilt Designs has a new book called Quilted Living which is full of fun vibrant quilts made from her new line of fabric called "summer cottage".

I’ve been busy!

Well, its been about a month! Didn't mean to be away so long but I have been busy…

I have been down to Port Campbell for the annual Gum Valley patchwork stitching retreat.

Linda puts on a fantastic day and the venue overlooks the bay….heavenly to stitch and admire the view!

Two weeks later, Ramona and I held our Stitched in Time for Christmas weekend.

We had the best time and the ladies all enjoyed themselves!

Scrappy Fat Quarter Quilts

There are some new releases at Martingale and this would have to be a favourite!

I love me a scrappy quilt and in this book Scrappy Fat Quarter Quilts

And imagine my absolute excitement when I saw this quilt! it's called Monkey Business

Blue quilt I have been looking at this quilt on Pinterest and now here it is!! (and of course it's blue!)

and just because I can……remember Strip Savvy by Kate Henderson? well I made a quilt from the book!

this is called Butterflies and I made it from my own fabric Baskets in Bloom (Red Rooster Fabrics)

Butterfliesit's a bit smaller but perfect for what I wanted (and nice and quick to make!)

Spokane and The Buggy Barn

Next stop was Spokane for The Buggy Barn Quilt Show and classes. We had a week there and it is such a beautiful city!

We stayed here at The Holiday Inn Express and it was fabulous..

My class was on Monday and I absolutely loved showing all these lovely ladies the fun of hand embroidery..

Kim Diehl was also teaching and some of the girls went to Kim's class.

Tuesday and Wednesday I took a class with Pat Wys….what a fabulous teacher and funny as!! It won't surprise you to hear that I didn't get much done!!

I had Thursday off with Dela nd we were lucky enough to spend the day shopping at a few quilt shops with Lynne from Canada

and then Friday was class with Stacy from Buttermilk Basin, and look who came as well!! Debbie from Wooden Spool Designs! Debbie and Stacy

Sat we went to the Buggy Barn Quilt Show, wow, it was great. A lot of amazing quilts!

I am so sad to hear that The Buggy Barn is closing and so grateful that I had the chance to go there with some amazing women…we had a great trip and have made some wonderful memories!

next stop Portland

We arrived in Portland and once settle in to our hotel we went walking…..just to a grocery store to buy supplies…we needed all our strength for the Quilt Knit Stitch show the next day! (we may have been first in line!)

It was so great to meet the girls from My Red Door Designs…

they had a gorgeous booth and I amy have bought a couple of quilt kits…..(in blue of course)

I also was able to meet some new friends and old friends too!! See Anna's blog for photos!!  and visit Anne too, she has a great blog!

Friday saw us greeted by Debbie and April with a limo!!! We had champagne and orange juice and cinnamon buns on the way to the Debbies house for a class.

A Wonderful Adventure

Well, I am back from a wonderful adventure!!! It was a great trip and we all had the BEST time!!

Apart from a little extra time in LA Airport (connecting flight was cancelled and then they lost my luggage!!) everything went so smoothly and as planned!

First stop Seattle….and the Martingale offices…

then on to Gathering Fabrics, a wonderful shop in Woodinville WA. Susan so very kindly had a goody bag for us all. I may have bought some gorgeous fabric!!

then onto Keepsake Cottage Fabrics in Bothell. The Country Village they are situated in, is delightful!

The next day saw us take a ride to the top of the Seattle Needle..a boat trip…

and a walk through Pike Place Market with it's gorgeous flowers and fresh fish!

Wed saw us on the train to Portland, it was such a nice relaxing way to travel…we managed to get some stitching done too!!

USA trip

I am so looking forward to heading off to the US again on Sunday….I will be travelling with 7 ladies and we are going on an adventure…

Quiltmakers Parade of Homes

Earlier on this year I was asked by Quiltmaker magazine if I would like to be a part of their Parade of Homes.…of course I said yes!

We had to make Lori Holt's house block from Quiltmakers 100 blocks vol 8 and make it our own.

Of course I used my new fabric range Baskets in Bloom by Red Rooster Fabrics…

I added buttons to the roof and embroidery to the house….flowers, stars and hearts.

I am so thrilled to be a part of it……

I haven't got my magazine yet…..but will show you when it arrives…

Cotton Factory

I am so excited to be teaching in Ballarat in Sept for the lovely Alison at Cotton Factory.

Here are all the details…..

It is a new project and you will learn lots of different embroidery stitches…..(and yes it isnt finished in the picture but will be this week!) I am thinking it will be a cushion but of course you can make it into a bag, wall hanging, front of a sewing folder etc…
