I have been planning and plotting with Michele from The Christmas Beetle and we have come up with a Christmas in July Workshop on July 6th 2013 at The Christmas Beetle in Albury.
So as you all know how much I LOVE Christmas…..there will be a morning workshop with a stitchery project and then an afternoon workshop with needleturn applique. There is the option of doing both…

I spent a great day on Saturday with 70 women at the Stitch in Spring hosted by Linda from Gum Valley Patchwork. Lenora Jenkins was also a tutor on the day and we had just the best time! (If you go to Lenora's blog and Linda's blog there are more photos!!)
Linda made these gorgeous goody bags, filled with all sorts of yumminess…..including the most divine chocolate!!
The ladies were all very keen to get started and also to shop!! My projects were a Christmas wall hanging with some cheeky elves and a little pocket folder appliqued with wool.You can see pictures on Linda's blog. They are almost ready for release!

On Friday I packed my bags and flew to Queensland to be a tutor at The Stitcher's Dream Day Out in Highfields. Marion from The Quilter's Angel hosts this event every year and it is a fantastic workshop!! Natalie Bird and Nikki Tervo were also teaching with me.

It was a fantastic weekend and one of the best things is meeting lots of lovely ladies!
I have only spoken to Kris via blogs and email so it was very exciting that I got to meet her!! (and she will be one of the tutors in March!!)
there was a lot of show and tell, it is always very inspiring to see what the ladies have made from our patterns.

I am off down to Simpson on Friday for a workshop on Saturday with Lenora. It will be fun to catch up with Linda who always puts on a great event!!

Last week I met Di at a class and she brought in her Aurifil blocks to show me. She has finished the first 3 months and they are looking so yummy (I am a bit partial to repros!!)
If you pop on over to the Aurifil blog you can still get all the patterns (up to now) and read about all the designers.

Today I drove down to Geelong to visit Zoe at The Blanket Box. I had lots of samples with me to show and I also taught a class. I met some great girls and had a lovely time. Jill in the class has a neice who went to primary school with Liam, it's a small world!!
Lots of yummy repro fabrics!! Zoe also stocks a lot of Aurifil threads so if you need some, you know who to call!!

The Embroiderers Guild of Victoria are hosting a weekend retreat in October. They need to raise funds to repair the termite damage to their building.

If spending a weekend stitching with your friends while someone cooks and cleans for you sounds like heaven, then come and join us at the
Colonnade retreat weekend
on
October 19-21st 2012.
This weekend is just to sit and sew your own work, no classes are organised,
BUT
there will be plenty of fun and games and prizes.
Accommodation will be in units, each unit has 2 twin share bedrooms and an ensuite fully air conditioned and heated. All meals inclusive Friday dinner to Sunday lunch.
Cost for the weekend is $240 each.
