Have been to work at foothills today, it was lovely to see lots of new fabric. After work my hubby picked me up and we went to get our car from the mechanics. by the time I got home with fish & chips for dinner I was pretty cold. I walked in the door to find that my 3 darling boys didnt have the heater on!!! It was 13 degrees inside and they were all dressed in t shirts, needless to say I went straight to the heater and turned it on HIGH! I have a problem of always having cold feet and I knew it would be a hard job to warm up. Anyway…..
here is a pic of my first friendships garden block:
I am very happy with how it has turned out. I will start the next one in Aug as I have lots of other projects to work on.
For the girls going to Loxton at the end of the month, I am making a smaller version of the bag.. it will be a surprise though so you will need to wait until then. (now to think of a name….this is the hardest part!!)
Well I hope you all have a good weekend and get lots of sewing done.
Cheers
Gail xx
ps.. I love Twisties…when I went overseas I got my mum to post me some!
(for those who dont know, they are cheese flavoured snacks and I could eat a whole packet by myself!!!!)
Hi Gail. I too have been a naughty girl and have been working on my version of the Blackbird Designs ‘Friendship’s Garden’. I have almost finished my 7th block! I really need to WORK! Maybe we can take them to Loxton and work on them at night! Hey even we need a break sometimes!
Hello. Your friendships garden block looks lovely. I’m looking forward to se more
blocks. Hope your feet are warm again.
Have a lovely weekend.
Love your block. Applique is just the best part of quilting for me. And as to cheese snacks – my weak spot too!
I really understand about the twisties. We lived in Indonesia (returned to Aus 2 years ago) and I missed cheezels. I had to have them sent over as well. The other thing I really missed was beetroot. We went to Singapore for a holiday and I spent hours searching the supermarkets for a can of sliced beetroot. When I found one I took it home and relished it for a week.
Ooohhh Gail thats beautiful!!! I have this book – I bought it ages ago. I think you have inspired me to get going.

Gail, Your Friendship Garden block is lovely, so is your Country Threads pattern. How is Ramona’s block going? I should have asked her today, but after yesterday’s stress laden day, I forgot. Hope you are feeling alot better.
