New Fabric

of course on my recent travels I hunted out a few patchwork shops! here is some of the fabric I bought:

Fabric2 isn’t it just soo yummy!!! I am not sure what I will make yet but I HAD to buy these……..

I also managed to slip in a little stitching…..

P1020087

on the left is a Christmas stitchery by Bronwyn Hayes, in the middle is one of the projects by Natalie Bird that I started at Highfields (the stitchers dream day out at the Quilters Angel) and on the right is a blue version of the stitchery by Leanne that we did at GlenHarrow ( I have also finished a red version) now all I need to do is make them into……something..?

I also treated myself to a new sewing machine yesterday as mine seized up on Tuesday night. I have been wanting one for a while now and as poor old Janome cracked it after about 20 years, I went for the Bernina 440QE, wow what a machine, I am looking forward to the weekend when I can have a play!!

Cheers

  1. Hey Gail,
Now there’s a surprise a roll of blue fabric. I love the Natalie Bird stitchery. You will love your new Bernina it is the same as mine.

  3. HI Gail,
WOW!! You sure did get some serious stitching done on your holiday. I must admit – it is nice to stitch away from home as you don’t have housework hanging over your head.. I LOVE all the completed stitcheries and look forward to seeing what you turn them into.

  4. Hi Gail, nice to see you back from your hol’s , love your purchases! You’ll love your Bernina, I have one too and they are just wonderful to sew with!

  5. Hi.

  6. You won’t know yourself with the new bernina. I have a half finished quilt on mine at the moment and it has been calling to me all week to come and finish it.

  7. Hi Gail, I managed to score the same new machine when I got back from Melbourne! I think it covers our anniversary, my birthday last week, Christmas and very probably something next year as well! All I need it more ‘me’ time to play with it!
    Cheers, Anne

  8. Hi Gail I had some thoughts about your 2 stitcheries blue and red_1: make them into cushions with a red/cream or blue/cream pieced border2: make them into little bags that use can use to pack shoes or lingerie when you travel 3: make them into little pockets like the kind leanne made with her postcards to fit first aid stuff or travel documents in 4: just frame them into lovely shabby chic type frames and hang them together on your wall ,i have a couple of redwork pieces in my kitchen and they look great with my red checked kitchen blind

  9. Hi Gail, sounds like you had a great holiday ( a family road trip this time!!). I’ve also purchased the same machine, but haven’t had time to have a play yet, hopefully next week…
    The stitcheries are lovely.
    Love Jo
