Sunny Sunday

What a lovely sunny day we are having here in Melbourne. It is still chilly but the sun is shining and I have been for a lovely walk. I have also finished the new quilt but I am still deciding on a name. I find this the hardest part sometimes!! Here is a photo:Daisy

this means that I can start something new ( the tree skirt for Christmas club is top of the list!!). I have also been cutting out lots of fabric for my double wedding ring quilt, that takes a long time but I can start piecing tomorrow night when I am babysitting for my sister. I am looking forward to a busy week with sewing on Wed night, classes on Thurs day & night and quilt til you wilt at Mrs Martins on Friday night. I should be able to get lots of things done!!! (in between talking and eating of course!!)

have a good week where ever you are

Cheers

Gail xx

PS.. did you know…..when I was little I used to make clothes for my barbie…!!

  1. When you mentioned barbie, it reminded me of when I made a complete wardrobe – evening gowns, jeans, the whole lot – for my 3 nieces’ barbies about 15 years ago. It was such a fiddly job it almost drove me crazy. I’m not sure that the little girls really appreciated it but my sister did say that the clothes lasted a lot longer than the bought ones.

  2. Gail, I remember making clothes for Barbie – Phew! she was always so hard to fit with those huge boobs and tiny waist! Quite the freak – I am so glad I don’t look like her!! he he he…..

  3. How about scattered daisies? I do like this quilt. I used to make Barbie clothes too. We even had teeny tiny zippers and snaps that mom bought and we would make dresses for our dolls to match our own.

  4. Gail, Your week sounds like it will keep you out of mischief. Hope you get lots of sewing done. Now I have finished Friendships Garden I don’t know what to do next. All my projects are looking at me saying “me next”. How does “My Daisy Garden” sound.
    See you Thursday, Lesley

  5. Very Cute quilt love the appliqued and stitched daisies. Havent really got a suggestion for a name but obviously needs to have daisy in it somewhere. Have fun at all your classes. cheers S
