sneaky little look!

Well I just couldnt think of anything else for the title! So here is a little look (a bit blurry!) of one of the projects for Gum Valley Patchworks Stitching Day in September.

Sneak peek
all will be revealed on the 24th September if you will be joining us!

I am looking forward to the day and meeting lots of lovely ladies. My friend "granny Loz" will be coming over to spend the day with us and then we will take some time to relax and enjoy a short holiday.

My "baby" Liam had his 14th Birthday yesterday and we had a lot of fun bowling and going to the movies, followed by dinner with family. I can't believe he is so tall (taller than me and I am not short!!) and growing up so quickly!

I also want to let you know about this great new magazine from the US.This is the fall issue (2nd issue)

Cover
it is full of lots of lovely primitve projects, I have already picked one out to start! Here is the blog if you want to have a look.

My quilt "one little flower" (okay so there are 83 really) will be the project for a class at Foothills Fabric and Threads on Thursday 18th August at 7pm.

This is a great quilt to use up lots of scraps and to learn needleturn applique (by the last flower you will be an expert!)

So if you would like to join us please ring the shop on 9754 6166 to book in!!

I am happy to be home now until the end of september when I travel down to Gum Valley Patchwork to teach at a workshop with Lenora. I think it is full but you can always ask Linda to go on the waiting list!

You must go over to Linda's blog and see her Dear Prudence quilt. It is made of tiny 1/4" hexagons and won best of show at the Melbourne Craft Fair. It truly is stunning to say the least. A big CONGRATULATIONS to Linda!!

Have a great week everyone

Cheers

Stawell Craft Shop visit

After arriving home on Sunday night from Adelaide, I kept my suitcase packed and headed off on Monday to Stawell to teach for the ladies from the Stawell Craft Shop. Monday night I unpacked all my samples for a trunk show, I must say I was so happy so many ladies came out on such a cold night. It was great to meet you all!!

Tuesday saw me meet up with Cheryl to set up for the workshop.

On such a cold day we were snug and warm in our room and set for a full day of stitching.

The projects were "ruby cottage" and "garden delight", both small projects to work on both stitching and applique. I was happy to be able to show the ladies how I do needleturn applique, see it's not too scary!!

After the workshop I had a quick look around the shop, absolutely full of the most gorgeous things, of course I bought some fabric but also a scarf, a wire tray table and a birdcage. If you past by Stawell you really must drop in!!

Stawell1
Thanks to Cheryl and Wendy who made me feel very welcome and looked after me so well (thanks Cheryl for the chocolate!!)

Hoping to see you again!!

Inspired Stitches

I had a fantastic time in Adelaide last weekend, teaching for the lovely Sarah from QFD.

I was so lucky to be able to go with Janelle, Helen and Natalie and wow we had a great time. I had two projects for the girls and if you visit Sarah you can see a photo as I didnt get one on the weekend!

There were so many great ladies, I was happy to be able to catch up with lots of friends but also to meet some new ladies too!! Ros came from Perth, Sandy came from Sydney, Sue came from Darwin, Chris came from QLD, Kerry and friends came from Melbourne, all for the enjoyment of stitching and meeting new friends!

Jen managed to get quite a bit of stitching done on "ruby cottage". She is using Cosmo Seasons thread 8049, a gorgeous mix of blues, tans and greens.

IS2

Thank you everyone for making Inspired Stitches such fun!!

Have a great weekend!!!
