quilt show

I was up bright and early this morning to see No. 1 son off to camp with school. They are going to Central Australia and will have a ball!!! So needless to say I had a bit of time this morning to go up to Monbulk to the Quilt Show. I ran into Nic who also was up early to see her son go on the same camp.

There were some wonderful quilts on display and I especially loved the antique quilts from America. They belong to Rosemary who kindly allowed me to show them off!!

P1020547 Isn’t this gorgeous!!! I have been wanting to make a blue and white quilt for a while now and I think maybe this one? or then again…..this one?

P1020548 and what about this one?

P1020549

thanks to Karen and all the girls who put on a great show, it was a lovely morning out and I am very inspired to come home and sew (it is going to be hot again today 38C so I better get going before I wilt!!!)

Have a great weekend!!

Cheers

  1. Hi Gail,
I love quilt shows, they are very inspiring.Love your project in the Homespun magazine(as well as many of your other designs) must go out and buy it and add it to the list of must do’s.Thanks for the welcome. JO

  2. Now there is a surprise a blue and white quilt caught your eye LOL I like the 3rd one but white is not a good colour in this house.

  3. Hi Gail, I’ve had an SMS from Sam today and he reported that they’re having fun, except for the 10pm bedtime and the 5am wakeup call. Definitely not his usual routine.

  4. Gail and a blue and white quilt. How unusual! LOL. Looks like it was a great show. I only realised it was on on the way home from Safeway Monbulk with car full of groceries. Too hot to stop. Have to put my name down for next year.

  5. Hey Gail! Have just popped into peek at your blog for the first time via Leanne Beasley’s blog (via Lynette Anderson’s blog!!!) Love the blue and white quilts! I keep telling myself I’ll make a blue and white quilt one day and also a red and white quilt, but somehow, they always end up green with lots of stitcheries rather than patchwork or applique!! Oops! I did manage to complete one applique quilt using a kind of needle turn technique I learned from family friend Robyn Ginn – others still on the ‘to do’ list! Will be back again soon to see what else you’ve been up to! Bear Hugs! CHEERS! KRIS
