thought I had better keep you all up to date on how my quilt for Tassie is coming along. I have finished all the stitcheries and here are the rest:
all of these stitcheries have now been appliqued onto blocks ( i have stitched 4 of each) and I am playing around with the stitching that I want to do around them. Hopefully in the next couple of days I will show you how they have turned out!

Today was our break up at Foothills Fabric & Threads. We had a lovely lunch and nibbles and also did a Christmas swap. Glenda received my present
which is the centre block from my new pattern "Good Tidings", I just added a couple of borders and some prairie points. I also made one for Liam’s teacher….I hope she likes it!!
I was lucky to receive Dianne’s present:
and I think that we all enjoyed a lovely day ( I didn’t do any sewing!!) it was a nice time for a chat before things get too hectic!
Helen also finished her version of my pattern "believe in the magic", it is stunning!
So I hope that you are all enjoying any break ups that you are going to, enjoy any sewing that you are doing and relax over the Christmas break. Here in Aus, our kids are off school until the end of Jan, my 2 older boys have finished but Liam has still got another week to go. (maybe i can finish my shopping!) I still also have another birthday next week, my neice turns 13 on Tuesday so we will be going over for a birthday dinner.

Lucky me received my Secret Santa parcel on Friday (only 7 days after leaving the US). I came home from work and there was a lovely parcel all the way from Connecticut. I opened the box and looked at the beautiful parcel………and then I peeked…….and peeked some more……..and I knew that I wasn’t going to be very patient!!!!! So I opened it…..and how lucky am I???

Thought I might share with you my lovely find on Sat morning. The house around the corner was having a garage sale, so I just had to stop (no.2 son grumbled but as I am the driver I get to stop!!!) and I am so glad I did. I picked up these old spools and the sewing box for $10……I was happy with that!!
I know that I really shouldn’t be buying any more things but………..
We have had a lot of rain here in Melbourne today, flooding the roads and the supermarket…..but it is very welcome!
I have also sent my Secret Santa swap present, I hope she receives it soon and I hope that she likes it!!! I won’t mention any names just yet as I am not sure if she is waiting until Christmas.
I have started work on my quilt for Tassie and will post some pics soon.

Hard to believe that December is not far off……..about that Christmas shopping!!! (None done yet will wait til next week?)

I was also very lucky to get a lovely parcel from Leanne last week. She sent me this gorgeous BLUE bowl (how did she know my fave colour is blue?!), I absolutely squealed in delight when I opened it……and there was some yummy chocolate too..
hope you all are ready for Christmas!!!! (my SSCS will be sent this week, I will probably open mine as soon as it arrives as I am not very good at waiting…..I will be too excited!!)

As I said in my last post, I met some lovely people at the AQM. Colleen from Buttontree Quilts in Cairns dropped by and said hello (photo won’t co-operate), Sarah from Quilt Fabric delights came over from South Australia (next time she will come for the weekend) and Kerry from Cottage on the Hill came from Nundle and I was able to meet her! It was lovely to put faces to names. Of course Natalie and I couldn’t help ourselves and were like 2 school girls in a candy shop!! We are really looking forward to going to Tassie with Rosie next Feb…..ahhh I better get working on my project!!

What a great time we all had at the Australian Quilt Market in Melbourne over the weekend. I met lots of lovely ladies and talked and laughed my way through the weekend. It was lovely to meet Lynette and her hubby and spend the weekend getting to know them. Also to catch up with Leanne May (who has a new blog so take a look) from Candlelight Creations.
I also met up with Lyn from Moore Patchwork, we have been keeping an eye on each other through the blogs and it was great to meet her in person. I also met Di Mill who was wearing the most gorgeous shoes (yes…red!!!you may need to scroll down a bit to see them on Leannes blog). She was also very lovely.
Here is Melly who is still recovering from Houston (now she can relax a little!!).
It was so nice to meet Helen too, she has such lovely designs and has perfected the art of colouring on quilts. Well enough for today, I will be back later with more pictures.
But of course I need to draw a winner……so………congrats to Sue (nov 17, 1.36pm), Helen Nash and Caitlin O’Connor. send me an email with your address and I will pop the patterns in the post for you!!

here we are back at Friday again, another week gone, where does the time disappear to? I have finally finished "good tidings" in time for the trade show this weekend in Melbourne. So what do you think, now that you can see it all together?
I do like a stitchery in the border of quilts and I just had to have one here!

My exciting news is that I am going to Launceston in Tasmania to teach a workshop at the Country Quilter. Sally sent me an email and asked if I would like to come over and of course I said "YES". So my next project will be for Sally which I had better get a start on! Be back with more details soon!

Saturday night I enjoyed myself at the Foothills Christmas gathering. lots of lovely company, food and fun (I was totally exhausted by Sunday LOL). there were a few ladies there who have made some of my quilts.

done in one of my favourite ranges "seneca falls" (okay so you all know that blue is my favourite colour LOL)
I also have some exciting news about a retreat next year that I will be teaching at……but I will leave that for the next post in a day or two. Needless to say I was VERY excited when this lady asked me to do a workshop interstate…..with a couple of my friends….and another designer who I haven’t met yet……looking forward to meeting her…..I will be back with that news tomorrow!!!
