A big thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome, I felt like I had known the girls for a long time.

So nice to catch up with Lorraine (who has more photos on her blog and thanks for the hug from Stina!!!) and Julie (a BIG thank you and a BIG hug for driving us to the airport) and thanks Emma for the honey!!!

Thanks Robyn for making us feel so welcome and for putting us up at the most gorgeous place to stay in Pirie!! (more photos later!)

Update; Robyn has a blog now click here   see some more photos!

Yesterday I had a yummy lunch out and met the lovely Simone from May Blossom, she has a blog here so pop over for a visit and see all the gorgeous things she makes!!

I have started designing another quilt and was thinking about what I would like to stitch on it….then I remembered this quilt from 2006

Raspberry ripple

I have stitched dresden plates with flowers and am thinking along the same lines…but different…..stay tuned!!! (this is called raspberry ripple and comes with 3 different designs for the stitchery blocks)

I am off to Port Pirie tomorrow to meet up with Nat for a workshop at Country Hart…..see you there!!

Have a good weekend

Laila’s Garden by Stina

I just had to show you this gorgeous version of Laila's garden made by Stina. I was so lucky to meet Stina last year when Leanne and I went to Norway.

I am looking forward to seeing it when I visit at the end of the month.

If you are coming, don't forget to bring some show and tell, I love to see finished quilts and bags etc that you have made from my patterns.

It is a beautiful winter's day here today, the sun is shining but it is still cold, another perfect day for stitching.

I hope you can stitch today!

A little bit of fun sewing…

Although I spend a lot of my time designing and stitching my own designs I also like to have some fun sewing time where I can just follow the pattern and not have to think too much.!!!

I was given the book "Remembering Adelia" by Kathleen Tracy for my birthday last year and have been able to find some time to sew this little quilt. the best bit is that I have used some of my stash…not much but at least some!!

P1060917

I just love it!!!! and it's finished!!

I then bought myself the book "Prairie Children and their Quilts" and have made this little quilt….

P1060916

so cute!!!

I have a few more on the go too, I am trying to make better use of leaders and enders and so these quilts are coming together quickly!!

We are in the first week of school holidays here, so hopefully I can get a bit more fun sewing done!!! I have just about finished all my projects for others and would like to work a little on my own quilts…just for me (and a couple of presents too!!!)

Back to the sewing room for the rest of the afternoon…

Back with a peek

Okay … so it's been a while……since then I have been busy playing and working…and trying not to stress too much at the thought that my eldest son is now driving!!!! He got his licence 2 weeks ago and although I know I am confident in his driving it is still scary!!! the upside is he can drive himself to work and back and drive them all to school in the morning!!! Now onto the next learner!!

I have been busy making the project for Christmas in July over at Quilt Fabric Delights

here is a peek

Peek QFD

Peek2

the colours are nice and cheery, a bit different to what I normally use but when I first saw them I knew I had to make something, even before Sarah asked me to join in!!!

I have also been stitching away for the retreat in SA at Country Hart which is the end of July…..a hint….I have used the gorgeous Cottage Garden Threads!!! I will show a peek next time.
