Heat wave

I am back from a lovely holiday in Warburton, where i was able to stitch all day and read all night, in between swimming in the river with the kids (not to mention the chocolate and watching the tennis!!)

this is how much I have done on the cross stitch……..It's a bit addictive, I haven't done any for quite a few years and now it is all I am doing…except for a project that is due to Country threads mag by the end of the week…oops I really must get back to work!!

here is a little peek at what I have done so far…..I will concentrate on this in the afternoon.

My middle son started a casual job today so I have both older boys at work!! Only Liam and me…very quiet. They all go back to school on Monday and then I can get into some kind of routine….the tennis (Aust Open) will also be finished, I have been watching a lot of it and before I know it the time has flown by.

In Melbourne we are getting ready for about 5 days of extreme heat….up to 40 degrees Celsius not very good sewing weather but I will do the best I can!!

Bye for now

Gail

  1. Hi Gail,
Love your cross stitch … you have done a great job. I must admit Im a bit addicted to the tennis as well.
If it makes you feel any better here in Adelaide today and the next couple of days are 41 and then we get a cool change with temps in the high 30s for the following week or so!!! Not happy Jan!!!!! 🙁
    Thank goodness for the air-con!!
I have done my Xmas wish block 1 and love it!!!! cant wait for the next installment. Thaks so much.
    Cheers Sue

  2. Gail, that cross-stitch pattern is lovely. Its fun to have a break and then you get so muchmore enthused when you go back to something.

  3. Hey Gail,
Glad to have you back on line. Hope the break was good. It looks like you were very productive. Those sneaky peaks are a real tease. keep up the good work.

  4. I just wanted to let you know that I finished your first block. I am delighted with the outcome.
Is there a trick to getting such even stitches (such as the running stitch on the preview you shared)or is it just practice?

  5. Can we split the your heat and my cold and heavy snow coming tonight and tomorrow. We have had a cold and snowy winter so far and it is still Jan. No spring till at least April.
    Love your cross stitch.

  6. Wow Gail you have got heaps done on your xstitch. Looks fabulous. I’m so jealous. I have been finishing some ufo embroideries which make me feel better and I’ve nearly finished a simple quilt kit I bought last year. Then I’ll start Butterfly Garden. Keep cool. xx Sue

  7. Your cross stitch work looks fabulous and I like the quilting of the other project! Good to hear you had a lovely vacation! Wish we could have some of your degrees here! But we do have lots of sun so that is good!

  8. Love your X Stitch I haven’t done any in ages either. I have been investigating Warbarton as a place for a holiday I saw something about it out in blog land and thought it sounded and looked nice. Hot here also so stay cool.

  9. My maiden name is Warburton–how fun to see that name in your post. I have many ancestors from England. Thanks for the block of the month patterns–how very kind and generous of you. Julie
