Pressies!!

Hi everyone, wow doesn’t the week go fast. I have finally been able to get on my computer today. It is on a go slow as my boys have passed our download limit (very frustrating).

Liam has drawn some names and the winners are Tracey, Laila and Leanne. Congrats!!! If you email me your address i will pop the patterns in the post.

Thanks to everyone who left a comment, I really appreciate it.

I have tried to put a photo of my newest quilt in progress but it wouldn’t work. i have sewn the 16 blocks together, put a border of cream to stitch on and then a border of green. I have used the Rites of Spring range which I used for "seasons". I am very happy with how it looks so far. Once we get some speed back i will post a photo.

I am going to Warrnambool on the weekend for a workshop at Fragrant Cottage. My friend Robyn and her friend Vicki are coming so it should be a lot of fun. (My family have already planned what they will do without me!!)

thats all for now

Cheers

Gail

PS did you know??  ….. I dont drink tea, coffee or coke!

Christmas in June

I have finally got my act together and have some patterns for you to win. I will feature some of my existing patterns that you may not have seen yet.

I have decided to start with a christmas pattern (is that predictable?) So leave a comment to go into the draw to win 1 (of 3) of this pattern.

Noel

This pattern is called Starry Noel and there are 3 projects, a wall hanging, table mat (which makes a great gift!!)and a tablerunner. It is never too early? to start on christmas. I will draw 3 winners on Tuesday afternoon.

I am still working on the quilt that I featured a while ago. Somehow I manage to lose time and of course I never know where to look for it!! I have put the blocks together and when the trim is on I will post a photo.

Thanks for visiting!!

Tonight I have been up at Mrs Martins teaching. I was lucky enough to have my gorgeous sister Sharon come along to play, even though there is 6 years between us we are very close (and very alike we have been told!!)

it’s lovely to see

I really love it when I get to see what people having been making from my patterns. It’s very satisfying that my patterns are being enjoyed. Lyn from Moore Patchwork has made up my Heart of the Home Backpack and it looks fantastic, so take a look at her blog to see the finished bag. If you would like to share anything you have made from my patterns, feel free to email me with a photo and I can put it on my blog (I do so love show & tell).

We have friends coming over tonight for dinner and then Robyn and I can sew (she’s a quilter also) we are planning to make a double wedding ring, is it ambitious that I want to hand piece mine? I have only ever made one other hand pieced item and that was a small table runner. I am looking forward to it among all the other projects I am making (I can’t just have one project to do I NEED to have at least four on the go, not including my own new patterns!)

enjoy your weekend where ever you are!

Cheers

a new block

here is what I have been up to on the weekend, this is one of 16 blocks that I have done. I am now playing around with the design to see what I like the best, thinking of adding some trims around the border

Pakenham Quilt In

What a lovely day I have had at the Pakenham Quilt In!! A whole day of sewing with some nice ladies (and Dianne!). We paid $5 to sit & sew, lunch of a yummy soup and lots of yummy cakes for afternoon tea. I also won a door prize! Lots of laughs and a little bit of sewing. Paenham

there were over 150 ladies there and some lovely quilts on display as well. Thanks to Margaret and all the girls at Pakenham for organizing a great day. (Fiona where were you?)

Will be back next year!!!

Biggest Morning Tea

I have had a lovely afternoon at foothills fabric & threads taking part in the "Biggest Morning Tea" to raise funds for cancer research. (yes it was in the afternoon as the morning session was full!) we had lovely cakes and slices and made a little scissor case, all the materials kindly donated by Sandra & Lesley.P1010004

I have added another blog to my list so if you have time take a look at Lyn’s blog, and from there of course you can go to another and another and another (oh where does the time go when you are reading all these blogs?)

Be back soon

needle keeper

Thought I would share with you this needle keeper that belongs to my mum (I borrowed it about 4 years ago and it has lived with me since then!) My memory tells me that she got it from one of us kids, bought at a mothers day stall when we were at primary school. I also have a vague memory that she might have made it for the stall herself!! P1010002_2 I am so glad that she kept it all these years. Is this where I get my " I can’t throw that out"  problem from? You never know when you might need something and I do like to keep things for sentimental reasons.

Just before Christmas my hubby made me throw out all the empty boxes that I had somehow collected, just to ask me the next day if I had an empty box he could use!! He certainly copped it from me for about a week.

Anyway, I hope you all have an enjoyable week, and I hope it rains (just not on Wed afternoon when we have a paper round!!!)

it’s raining!!!

it’s raining, it’s raining! For the second morning in a row it has been raining and it is soooo lovely. It has been so dry here for so long. I know sunny days are nice but rain is what we need. Here is a photo looking over my backyard (and the neighbours). So does this mean that I can stay inside and sew all day? never mind the housework it will still be here tomorrow!!!

this blog world

I never thought that through a blog you can enter a whole new world out there! I find myself going from one to another and lose all track of time. There are some great reads out in blog land and I do have a list of favourites (see down the side). this one, Buttonberry is new for me as they are going to stock my patterns in the UK. Needless to say I was very excited!! (think I need to treat myself to a chocolate?)  Check it out I am sure you will love it. Also I love to read Julianns Blog and see what she gets up to.

I am going to try and get some sewing done tonight when I babysit for my sister, I usually can sew from 7.30 until midnight (as long as I dont fall asleep), the only problem is I have to be up early to take my 2 older boys to school at 8am (the joys of motherhood and yes I know that its not THAT early). At least I can fit more into my day.

Thats all for now

Have a good Wednesday!!!
